Plagued by Mildly annoyed by Still using in spite of massive load problems and API throttling, many Twitter users seem to be jumping ship to FriendFeed. I tried it out myself and while the web interface leaves something to be desired, and Twitter integration isn’t quite there yet, I think it has some potential. It’s not the next Twitter (Twitter is the next Twitter) but it’s a service that has a place in its own right and a good native app could make it really appealing.

Some folks on Twitter (Jonathan Wight et al) mobilized yesterday to build such an app and you can follow the project on Google Code. I’m not yet far enough in my Cocoa education to contribute too much to the source base, but I’ll be helping out with icons and other graphic squishiness.

The icon at right is my first crack at the application icon. It has a long way to go - there is a lot that I have to learn about the fine art of making icons for the Mac. Let me know if you have any suggestions, or bounce over to the Code project and sign up if you want to contribute!
